Heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Sandra Wilhelm who passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020. Sandy was 77 years old. She was a member of the Sellersville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Sandy is survived by her son Douglas Wilhelm and her sister, Sheila Connors; and two granddaughters, Megan and Victoria. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 6th, at 5:00 P.M. at the Sellersville Fire Department 2 N. Main St. Sellersville; Rev. Trudy Irving will be officiating. There will be a Calling held from 4:00-5:00 P.M. in the firehouse. Let us surround this family with our prayerful and love-filled comfort.
We are currently collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child and will continue to do so until November 18th. On Sunday, November 15th there will be a special dedication, of the shoeboxes collected, during our 10:15 Worship. If you are unable to attend church, Pastor Trudy will be collecting shoeboxes on Thursday November 12th on the front porch of the parsonage from 3-5pm. All shoeboxes will delivered on Thursday, November 19th. Thank you for your continued support and for sharing joy and the chance to learn about Jesus with children all over the world. Jesus said, “Give to the least of them and you give to me.”
Our organist and pianist, Nathan Gulla, is participating once again this year in the Extra Life Fundraiser. Nathan told me, “I am, indeed, participating, though I started very late in the game.” An excerpt from their website states: Extra Life unites thousands of gamers around the world to play games in support of their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Since its inception in 2008, Extra Life has raised over $70 million USD for sick and injured kids. Right now, children’s hospitals need YOUR support………Sign up today and raise funds for the Children’s Hospitals COVID-19 Impact Fund.
Nathan is playing in support of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and this is his 8th year of participating in this event. Here is Nathan’s fundraising link: https://www.extra-life.org/participant/nathan-gulla. Just click on the link to support Nathan in his fundraising efforts for CHOP. Nathan extends his “thanks” for your consideration of making a donation today.
On Sunday, October 25th, from 11:00 a.m. to Noon, we will hold a Pennridge FISH Collection in front of our church. Some folks that have returned to in-person worship have brought their FISH items with them; however, this drop off hour is an opportunity for all of us to participate in our ongoing mission of supporting our Pennridge FISH pantry.
Below is an updated list of current needed items; those items marked with an asterisk (*) are either low or unavailable at the pantry at this time. Please notice that some of those items are items needed for Thanksgiving meals which will be distributed this year. Monetary donations to Pennridge FISH are also welcome and accepted and can be dropped off on Sunday as well, if that’s an easier option for you. Just stop by the front of the church on Sunday, October 25th, from 11am to Noon, and Brenda and Neil Clark will be waiting for you. Thank you so much for your continued support of our Pennridge FISH pantry, especially at a time when there are so many families facing food insecurity.
